翻訳されるレイプと男性セクシュアリティ ― 大島渚『絞死刑』と大城立裕『カクテル・パーティー』のあいだから ─
오시로 다쓰히로의 『칵테일 파티』(1967)와 오시마 나기사의 <교사형>(1968)을 나란히 놓고 분석하는 것은 상당히 복잡한 일이다. 본 논문에서는 같은 시기, 같은 문 화 권력에 의해 높이 평가된 두 작품을 ‘강간’과 ‘재현—번역’의 측면에서 분석한다. 이러한 시각에서 보면 소설의 강간 표상을 통해 영화의 강간 표상을 비판적으로 재 해석할 수 있는 단초들이 부각된다. <교사형>에서 나타나는 재현, 즉 번역행위는 ‘히노마루’를 매개로 여성(의 나체)의 횡령, 남성의 동성애, 근친상간, 나아가 민족의 불가시화로 나타난다. 이를 통해 남성(주로 일본인)들에게 면죄부가 주어지게 된다. 한편 『칵테일 파티』가 발표되던 1967년은 조국복귀운동이 한창이던 시기, 즉 일본을 외치는 운동이 끓어오르던 시기였다. 그러나 『칵테일 파티』는 중국에서 망명한 중국 인 변호사를 등장시켜 구 일본 제국(오키나와 포함)의 전시 성폭력과 미군정 하의 군사 성폭력을 겹쳐서 보여준다. 이처럼 오키나와(인)를 통해 피해와 가해가 뒤섞인 양의적 구도를 개입시켜 본토와의 관계를 드러내는 것은 R이라는 기호를 매개로 일 본인과 조선인 남성에게 면죄부를 부여한 <교사형>의 히노마루와는 확연히 다른 것 이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 분석을 통해, 이 시기를 대표하는 작품으로 두 작품을 역사화해온 일본의 사상사와 문화사를 다시 묻고자 한다.

The Topology of Rape and Male Sexuality : Oshima Nagisa’s ‘Death by Hanging’ and Oshiro Tatsuhiro’s ‘The Cocktail Party’
A comparison of Oshiro Tatsuhiro’s novel ’Cocktail Party’ (1967) and Oshima Nagisa’s film ‘Death by Hanging’ (1968) is quite challenging because the two works belong to two different art-forms, a novel and a film, having different grammars. Both received high acclaim around the same time and from the same kind of cultural authorities. The purpose of the present study is to analyze these two works from the perspective of re-enactment / translation of ’rape’. Such analysis is expected to allow us to critically reconsider the representation of rape in the film from the representation of rape in the novel. In the re-enactment / translation in ’Death by Hanging’, the Japanese flag was the medium through which the erasure of ethnicity, male homosexuality, incest, and appropriation of the (nude) female occurred. The events are thus reconstructed from a male-centric perspective, and men, especially Japanese men, were excused for their crimes. On the other hand, ’The Cocktail Party’ was published in 1967 during the height of the reversion movement. That is, it was written at a time when the movement to reestablish ties with Japan was very active. However, ‘The Cocktail Party’ features a Chinese lawyer who has fled from China, thus overlapping the wartime sexual violence of the former Japanese empire (including Okinawa) and the military sexual violence of the U.S. By leaving the status of Okinawa(n)’s as victims/perpetrators ambiguous, the relationship with the mainland that has been portrayed in this novel is quite different than that seen in the ’Death by Hanging’, where the Japanese and Korean men were excused for their crimes.
